Teresa
Asthma in childhood accompanied by allergies in my teens initiated my health journey. This led me to discover the differences that nutrition and lifestyle can make.
In my early twenties I realised that food and drink choices, alongside a busy work schedule, little interest in exercise, whilst raising my three children resulted in the health symptoms that I was experiencing.
Regular colds, tonsillitis, on going nasal issues and breathing problems began to impact my work and family life.
I craved sweet foods and drinks which fuelled the dysregulation of sugar in the blood. This triggered hormone imbalances resulting in severe premenstrual symptoms; migraines, low mood and energy, disrupted sleep cycle, insomnia, allergic skin reactions and eczema.
My road to better health began with baby steps, small changes. Over time I identified triggers, eliminated foods, and rebalanced my blood sugar. This became my turning point. I saw the potential for unlocking health improvements without medication.
I strengthened my immune system, balanced my hormones, which in turn supported my sleep and consequently my mood. My symptoms subsided and I realised that making better food and lifestyle choices resulted in feeling motivated and empowered.
Fast forward…
Through studying and practicing nutritional therapy, considering food and lifestyle at a cellular level and looking at the bodies systems as a whole has taken me on a path of discovery.
The human body is resourceful and amazing!
It is consistently adapting, supporting homeostasis. It does a fantastic job! Unfortunately, modern day lifestyles, environmental changes, depleted nutrients in soil and highly processed foods can create challenges for our bodies, tipping our natural balance and ability to adapt.
