“I was recommended to Teresa by a friend. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism many years ago and thought I had it pretty much under control, however since the birth of my second child I had slowly been gaining weight and had noticed my mood declining which was very much out of character for me. After discussing the option with my husband, followed by an in-depth call with Teresa I decided to invest in the 10 week programme as Teresa felt she could support me with my aims.

I found the process easier than what I had thought to be honest, which is that is to Teresa’s support and encouragement. The first three weeks were the most challenging and then I got into a routine. I have always done most of my cooking from scratch so that part of it was fine. Fitting it around my family has also been quiet straight forward.

“Having known Teresa for over 20 years I had no hesitation in using her services as a naturopathic nutritionist.
The initial consultation was an in-depth look at both my physical health and mental health. Teresa was extremely professional and at the same time easy to talk to. “I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) at the age of 23 and not until recently had I realised how much of an impact this had on my life.
I had had stopped having periods, which in turn left me feeling ‘un-womanly’ and of low self-esteem. I suffered huge sugar cravings, continually wanting to eat, I did little exercise and as a result was not happy with my body. I had a relatively unhealthy relationship with food – if I was stressed, I would eat and eat until I was uncomfortably full.The Mars bar was my haven.

I was not offered any support for PCOS from my GP other than symptom relief, the contraceptive pill, which I felt would just mask my problem, only then having to face it later in life.

Nutritional therapy ended up being my last resort option but I wish it was my first.
I have now had my 8th period in a row! I am thrilled.
I feel empowered in my knowledge of food, and the consequences of my food choices. I maintain a well- balanced diet, regularly exercise and have more energy. I also have a better understanding of stress, how my body works and the importance of sleep. In gaining this knowledge I now understand the why behind PCOS, female hormones and our diet. I no longer feel guilt around my occasional binging because I know why and what fuels it and it certainly isn’t greed or lack of willpower.This was a huge factor in my commitment to this journey!
Teresa was incredibly warm and professional to work with. Initially we had regular sessions which were personalised to me, my eating habits and my lifestyle. Teresa suggested I take an adrenal stress test, (involved mouth swabs), which I was happy to take; we set individual goals around my food, exercise but also around making changes in other areas of my life to reduce stress.
Teresa also sent me meal suggestions and food recipes (which I still use today!), she gave her professional assistance in choosing the correct supplements that would support my health goals, this all made my commitment to the journey easier.This isn’t necessary an easy option, it takes commitment, but for me it appeared the only one and it is 100% achievable if you have support.
